Memorial Day Weekend

Is it officially summer yet? Me thinks so. We're looking forward to a nice three day weekend. Between potlucks and photo sessions with Ian at the venue, tattoo session in Encinitas, dress fittings for Lisa and the girls, it's going to be a busy weekend.

Wedding planning is coming to a head. It's all coming together quite nicely. I'm sure there will be some "freaking out" days before but we're ready. We have one more task to complete. It's a big one, and our hands will definitely be getting dirty.

Going under the needle.

Lisa and I are heading to Encinitas to get a little ink tomorrow. We're excited. Don't worry, we're not getting each others names across our belly, but they will tie into each others in some fashion. I can't decide if I want to go the hot dog route or throw in one of my fav superheros. Maybe I'll combine the two.

Another Step Closer

This past weekend, I am happy to say, we finalized the flowers!!!! We have a location, our designs, and the sweet sweet feeling of calm because they will deliver and set up. Thanks goodness.

Perhaps now I will stop having weird dreams about the wedding. Stress+Nyquil=scary wedding dreams where I am late, the officiant is late, and I have suddenly remembered that I am supposed to be wearing undergarments!!!!

Wednesday Words...

Less than 3 months and counting. It's crunch time. The good news is we gave ourselves a year and a half to prepare and everything seems to be falling into place quite nicely.

Just need to add some final touches to the invites and then it's time to stamp 'em and ship 'em. We're really stoked on how they came out. They were more work than we had imagined but making them was a lot like exercise; it can be a tedious task at times, but as soon as you're done, you're proud of yourself for putting in the effort. After that labour of love is finished, we'll pop open some red red wine. No pun intended and no, UB40 will not be on the playlist.

Which brings me to the next thing on the checklist. The playlist. A much tougher task then we had imagined. We have the main tunes down, it's just the ones in the middle that are the hardest. The dance jams. R&B or 80's? Reggae or disco? It's a tough job but we're confident we'll come up with an awesome score for our day.

As much as you attempt to plan things, in the end, anything and everything can happen that day. This makes it exciting, and the the excitement meter is going up every day.
